There 4 different REC Zones and your solar rebate depends where do you live. The rebate is available inform of RECs which is Renewable Energy Certificates. When you buy the Solar System , you get the RECs according to the size of Solar System.
Typical 2 Kw Solar System has 142 RECs in Zone 4, 165 in Zone 3, 184 in Zone 2 and 194 in Zone 1. These RECs are for 15 years deeming period of solar system. The final Solar Rebate is calculated by multiplying the no. of RECs by current rate of RECs ( e.g. If RECs rate is $38 then Solar Rebate in zone 4 will be 142 X 38 = 5396 for 2 KW System with deeming period of 15 years ) . There is five times multiplier in these RECs which will become 4 times from 1 July 2011 ).
